CSNN Ottawa is pleased to offer a series of fun interactive virtual cooking classes especially designed for kids, tweens and teens. Students will learn the basics of healthy cooking for a healthy and strong body. Diet culture and body positivity will also be explored.
Week #1 - Basics of a Healthy Body
Understand how our digestive system works and what key nutrients we need to keep our body and mind healthy and happy. We will also discuss the promotion of a healthy relationship with our bodies and demystifying diet culture.
Week #2 - Vitamins and Minerals
Understand the role of vitamins and minerals. What do they do for our body and where can we get them from? We will also discuss what supplements could be beneficial to take.
Week #3 - Super Healthy Snacking
How to pick the right snacks that will keep you feeling energized throughout the day. Understand and demystify food labels and common snacks we find in our cupboard.
Week #4 - Fun and Filling Lunches
What foods can we make to bring with us to school to keep us focused and alert through the day?
Week #5 - Breakfasts and Dinners to Help in the Kitchen
Weekday breakfasts and dinners you can make to jump in the kitchen and help out your parents. The best way to make long lasting healthy habits is to get the whole family involved!
Does My Kid Have to Attend All Sessions?
Classes cost $55.00 + HST each and you can sign up your kid for as few or many classes as they want. For those who want to take all classes, the cost for the entire week is only $250.00 + HST.
